It’s that time! Oaklash 2025 is upon us and this is your moment to shine!
We’re looking for DJs, musicians, comedians, clowns, weirdos, freaks, and of course every type of drag you could ever imagine. You name it and we want it! Our goal is to curate a lineup that is diverse and beautiful as the Bay Area queer and trans community is, which means we need you!
We’re also looking for exhibitors to have a booth at our block party on Saturday May 17th — one thing I’m excited for this year is we’re making space for more than just your usual crafts and collectables (though of course we want our usual local art vendors too). I really hope we see more applications from non-traditional exhibitors this year — unliscenced therapists giving advice, clowns who want to make balloon wigs, massage therapists who want to rub my back. The sillier the idea, the better!
And of course we always need volunteers! A great way to be part of your local queer community! (and of course it gets you on the list for our events which is always fun)
Show us what you got!

Our curatorial committee this year consists of myself, Charles Hawthorne, Maha Wam, Piss E Sissy (host of our kickoff party), Sir Joq (host of our afterparty), Beatrix LaHaine, Nicki Jizz, Militia Scunt, Yayah the Artist, Mudd The Two Spirit, and La Chucha (these last six will be hosting our block party). Genevieve Mossy of Gemini Moon Botanicals will be selecting our vendors and Meme Cherry will be returning as our lovely Volunteer Coordinator. What a team!
And if you’re reading this far then you’re the first to know that full weekend passes for this year’s festival are now available on Eventbrite — but of course why would you do that when you can become a paid subscriber here on Substack for the same price AND get access to all of Oaklash’s behind the scenes content and other membership benefits? RIGHT?!?!?
